At the heart of Allo is Google Assistant, a sophisticated AI that powers the app's smart functionalities. This assistant is designed to understand context, anticipate user needs, and provide relevant suggestions, effectively acting as a personal assistant within your messaging conversations.

Google Assistant: The AI learns from your conversations over time, improving its ability to assist you. It can understand context, suggest replies, and even perform actions on your behalf.
Smart Reply: This feature leverages machine learning to offer contextually relevant responses. For instance, if asked "Dinner later?", Allo might suggest replies like "I'm in!" or "I'm busy." This extends to photos as well; if a picture of a dog is sent, Allo might suggest "Cute dog!" or identify the breed.
Expressions: Allo introduces enhanced emojis and stickers, including a unique "Whisper Shout" gesture. Sliding your finger down the screen results in a small, whispered text, while sliding up produces a large, shouted text, adding a new dimension to text communication.
Photo Sharing and Editing: Users can send full-bleed photos and doodle on them, similar to features found in Snapchat, allowing for more creative and personalized image sharing.

Provide Information: Users can summon Google Assistant by typing "@google" in the chat window. This allows for quick searches for GIFs, information about sports matches, player profiles, and more, directly within the chat.
Interactive Games: Allo supports games like "Emoji Games," where users guess movie titles based on emoji sequences. The platform is open for developers to create more interactive experiences.

Privacy and Security

Recognizing the importance of user privacy, Allo includes an Incognito Mode. This mode offers:

End-to-End Encryption: Ensuring that messages are secure and can only be read by the sender and recipient.
Private Notifications: Hiding message content from the lock screen.
Expiring Chats: Allowing conversations to automatically delete after a set period.

Any conversation deleted in Incognito mode is permanently removed from the app.

Availability
