The Economic Futures Program builds upon Anthropic's existing Economic Index, launched in February. This index open-sources aggregated, anonymized data to analyze AI's effects on labor markets and the economy, a contrast to competitors who often keep such data proprietary.

OpenAI's strategy focuses more on public adoption of AI tools, building AI infrastructure, and establishing "AI economic zones" to streamline regulations and encourage investment. While OpenAI's "Stargate" project aims to create jobs through data center construction, its economic blueprint does not directly address AI-related job loss in the same way Anthropic's program does.
